Inasmuch
Foundation Awards $194,000 in Grants to
Colorado Organizations
(Oklahoma City) ---- The
Inasmuch Foundation announced today the distribution of $194,000 in
grants to 17 organizations in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Edith Kinney Gaylord
founded the Inasmuch Foundation in 1982 to support charitable,
scientific and educational causes that enhance the progress and quality
of life for all individuals. Today, the Foundation is committed to
carrying on the immense interests of its late founder by giving to
education, health and human services, cultural organizations, the arts,
historic preservation and environmental concerns.
“Inasmuch Foundation's
philanthropy is intended to enrich and enhance the quality of lives it
touches; to lessen suffering whenever possible, and to strengthen and
support institutions and organizations in ways that benefit our
community and the individuals we serve,” said Robert J. Ross, Vice
President and Executive Director of the Inasmuch Foundation. “We
believe that the grants announced today fulfill the Foundation’s
mission, in keeping with our founder’s vision.”
Organizations awarded
grants from the Inasmuch Foundation include:

$50,000 to the Colorado Springs World Arena for the Pikes
Peak Center Encore Fund to preserve and renew the facility.
·
$25,000 to Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity to fund a home
in the Habitat Mill Street Neighborhood Development in the area south of
downtown Colorado Springs.
·
$25,000 to YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region Building Our
Heritage campaign for the first phase of the YMCA Camp Shady Brook
master plan.
·
Additional Grants include: Assistance League of Colorado
Springs - $4,000; Care & Share Food Bank - $10,000; Catholic Charities
of Colorado Springs - $15,000; Center for Nonprofit Excellence - $5,000;
Child Care Connections - $5,000; Colorado Springs Children's Chorale -
$6,000; Colorado Springs Philharmonic - $10,000; Colorado Springs Youth
Symphony - $4,000; Court Care for the Pikes Peak Region - $5,000;
Greccio Housing Opportunity Center $5,000; Rocky Mountain Community
Land Trust - $10,000; SET of Colorado Springs - $5,000; Southern
Colorado AIDS Project - $5,000; and Westside CARES $5,000.
