About the Position
The Communications Associate supports the Foundation's day-to-day communications across digital, print, media, and internal channels and coordinates implementation with external communications partners.
The role supports the Foundation’s public presence through social media, website content, press materials, presentations, and long-form publications, translating complex grantmaking and community impact into clear, accurate, human-centered stories.
What You'll Do

Support execution of the Foundation’s communications strategy across digital, print, media, and internal channels.
Coordinate day-to-day projects with public relations firms, consultants, designers, photographers, website partners, and other vendors.
Maintain communications calendars, project timelines, approvals, assets, and deliverables.
Help ensure messaging and materials align with Foundation priorities, voice, and brand standards.

Coordinate social media drafting, editing, scheduling, and publishing with a partner agency.
Draft and update website content, press materials, announcements, blog posts, initiative pages, and grant information.
Support development of Biennial Reports, one-pagers, briefing materials, event materials, presentation decks, and other digital and print assets.
Track media coverage and maintain organized records of press mentions and communications materials.

Prepare polished materials for Board of Directors meetings, committee meetings, leadership presentations, and internal planning sessions.
Coordinate edits, formatting, and updates across presentations and communications materials.
Help capture and visualize program-area data and community impact stories for internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain media lists, stakeholder contacts, distribution lists, segmentation, and communications databases.
Serve as day-to-day coordinator for website updates and digital content management.
Coordinate website updates and improvements with external vendors, ensure information remains accurate, current, and user-friendly, and conduct quarterly content reviews.

Work with Foundation staff to identify communications opportunities and organizational updates.
Support communications-related special initiatives and keep stakeholders aligned across multiple workstreams.
What You'll Bring
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
2-4 years of professional communications, marketing, public relations, writing, content, or related experience.
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, presentation development, project coordination, and content-management skills.
Ability to manage timelines, approvals, vendors, assets, deliverables, and multiple deadlines with accuracy and follow-through.
preferred qualifications
Experience in nonprofit, philanthropy, journalism, or another mission-driven environment.
Experience coordinating with external agencies, consultants, designers, photographers, website partners, or communications vendors.
Experience supporting long-form publications, website refreshes, content calendars, media lists, stakeholder segmentation, or community storytelling.
Photo, video, or digital asset-management experience.
Tools and Working Style
Microsoft 365, especially PowerPoint and Word; website CMS platforms; social media scheduling tools; Canva or similar design tools; media monitoring platforms; contact-management systems; and project-management software.
Curious, detail-oriented, deadline-aware, and comfortable moving between writing, editing, coordination, presentations, website updates, social scheduling, media lists, and collateral production.
Takes initiative while keeping internal and external stakeholders aligned; protects trust through accuracy, tone, and follow-through.

Work Environment, Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Oklahoma City in a collaborative, in-office work environment. Because the Foundation is a small team, employees work across functions and support shared organizational goals with flexibility, professionalism, and care.
