Inasmuch Foundation announces $6.68 million in grants

OKLAHOMA CITY – Inasmuch Foundation announced today the distribution of $6.68 million in grants to 34 organizations serving Oklahoma communities.

Inasmuch Foundation, founded by Edith Kinney Gaylord in 1982, supports education, health and human services and community enhancement initiatives that enrich the quality of life for Oklahomans.

“All around our community, there are organizations and people dedicated to improving the lives of others” said Bob Ross, President and CEO of Inasmuch Foundation. “We hope each Inasmuch Foundation grant strengthens these organizations and supports the people serving Oklahomans in their unique way.”

Grants were awarded to organizations for projects addressing the foundation’s areas of interest as follows:

Health and Human Services

  • $2,000,000 to INTEGRIS Foundation for construction of Arcadia Trails, a treatment center bringing advanced, integrated treatment to those facing addiction.
  • $500,000 to Homeless Alliance to rehab housing for Oklahoma City’s homeless population.
  • $500,000 to Mental Health Association Oklahoma for affordable housing for those impacted by homelessness and mental illness in Oklahoma City.
  • $190,000 to Hearts for Hearing Foundation for a new facility that will house all programs and services.
  • $100,000 to Community Health Centers for Healing Hands Health Care Services, a primary care clinic for homeless in Oklahoma County.
  • $100,000 to Neighborhood Services Organization for a dental clinic serving low-income Oklahoma City residents.
  • $100,000 to The Education and Employment Ministry (TEEM) to provide reentry services to formerly incarcerated individuals.
  • $75,000 to Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City for the IDA Matched Savings Program for working high school students, college students and families.
  • $75,000 to RAIN Oklahoma for HIV testing, education and outreach services.
  • $60,000 to Rebuilding Together OKC.
  • $60,000 to Tulsa Community Foundation to decrease teen pregnancy.
  • $50,000 to Oklahoma Conference of Churches.
  • $50,000 to United Way of Central Oklahoma for the Annual Campaign.
  • $50,000 to White Fields for an intensive therapy program to help boys work through trauma history and develop healthy coping skills.
  • $40,000 to Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma to provide free civil legal services to the disadvantaged.
  • $15,000 to Tulsa Area United Way for the Annual Campaign.
  • $10,000 to Latino Community Development Agency for operating support.

Education

  • $300,000 to Oklahoma Public School Resource Center for charter facility support.
  • $250,000 to Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce for Forward Oklahoma City V education initiatives.
  • $150,000 to KIPP Reach Academy for general support.
  • $100,000 to The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools to provide teacher certification assistance to bilingual paraprofessionals working for the school district.
  • $100,000 to Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics to provide merit-based faculty stipends.
  • $75,000 to Oklahoma City Community College for a summer paid internship program to retain students from high school graduation to freshman orientation.
  • $61,750 to Sunbeam Family Services to support the Site Director and Operations Coordinator positions for OKC Educare, providing the highest quality education to children birth-five living in poverty in Oklahoma City.
  • $60,000 to Harding Charter Preparatory High School to remodel four science labs.
  • $30,000 to Cristo Rey Network for an Oklahoma City feasibility study.
  • $30,000 to Teen Recovery Solutions for Mission Academy, a recovery-based high school.
  • $30,000 to Tulsa Educare.
  • $25,000 to Tulsa Legacy Charter School.

Community Enhancement

  • $1,000,000 to The Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation for the capital campaign.
  • $200,000 to The Oklahoma Chapter of the Nature Conservancy for a tract of land in Johnston County containing 1.4 miles of the Blue River.
  • $150,000 to Oklahoma Zoological Society to renovate the old picnic grove into an open gathering space and garden.
  • $60,000 to Oklahoma Humanities Council for Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma, a pre-packaged, humanities-based reading and discussion program.
  • $50,000 to The Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation for operating support.
  • $30,000 to Seminole Nation Historical Society for upgrades to the Seminole Nation Museum.
